Rite Aid senior executives joined local resident Larry King, Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse, Beverly Hills Fire Chief Ralph Mundell and a host of residents Monday for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating their grand reopening.

Guests were treated to fresh pastries from the Fresh Day Cafe,  where customers can enjoy Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf beverages and food. Harkening back to the days when the site was the home of Thrifty Drug Store, Rite Aid shared Thrifty ice cream with their guests as well.

The new store has enhanced private spaces for pharmacists’ consultations, vaccinations and other consultations; created a new OTC section and created a spacious health and beauty aid section.

At the ceremony, Rite Aid COO Ken Martindale, Executive VP Pharmacy Robert Thompson and Sr. VP of Communication Susan Henderson were on hand to bring several substantial contributions to Beverly Hills and Children’s Hospital. The Rite Aid Foundation awarded $10,000 each to the Beverly Hills Public Library and another $10,000 check for the Beverly Hills firefighter’s Association as part of their renewed commitment to being active partners in the City and the community. In addition, as part of a larger commitment to the Children’s Miracle Network, the foundation awarded $422,221 to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The newly remodeled store reflects an increased role in customer service and a broader commitment to healthy living. The Grand Re-Opening was part of Rite Aid’s 21-says of special events that began June 15 and continues through July 5 every day at the store. The store will feature beauty and health demonstrations, tastings, product samples, fragrance and product demonstrations with celebrity hosts including Denise Austin, representing her new Rite Aid line of exercise products.
