Legendary fitness guru Denise Austin has been getting us in shape for decades and now the quirky, fun and high-energy personality is launching a new 10-Week 360° Plan that aims to get you in shape in just 10 weeks ... and it's online! Follow the program and you can lose weight with motivating advice, healthy recipes, tips, workout DVDs or online videos and more! Part of the program also includes a mother/daughter workout and Denise and her daughter Katie are showing us just how easy it can be to get fit!
He's the latest big internet sensation, but Zeus the Owl is just a little screech owl whose unique eyes look like they have stars in them. His starry-eyed look stems from the fact that he's blind, but even though he can't see, he is otherwise completely healthy and happy. Zeus' disability brings so much awareness, sensitivity, and concern for all wildlife, as well as the environment we share. The best part: He lives right here in the Los Angeles area at the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar, just 30 minutes from Downtown LA. You can visit him along with so many other incredible rescued wild animals including monkeys, foxes, porcupines, kinkajou, lynx, two-toed sloth and so many more. The non-profit sanctuary is open 7 days a week and is just $7 for adult admission and $6 for kids.
Food allergies got you down? Not to worry. Kye's Santa Monica is a brand-new cafe that serves up healthy food that actually tastes incredible. Owner Jeanne Cheng was inspired to create a menu that would cater to those who have multiple food allergies like her son Kye. The result is Kye's, a new organic superfoods cafe where you can grab a quick bite, juice or smoothie or drop in for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything is naturally gluten-free, easily made vegan or Paleo and the KyeRito is really the piece de resistance -- a healthy hybrid of a wrap/roll/burrito with a patented slip-wrap technique.
